Three Robins named in England Squad to face France

England Head Coach, Shaun Wane has named a 20-strong squad ahead of Saturday’s mid-season international against France in Toulouse.

Three Robins have been named as Mikey Lewis, Jez Litten and Hull KR Captain, Elliot Minchella are all named in the 20-man England Sqaud.

Elliot Minchella has impressed Wane in recent seasons as he's set to make his England debut, having helped Hull KR to both the Challenge Cup Final and the Super League Play-Off Semi-Final in 2023.

On being called up for the first time, Elliot Minchella said: 'I’m very honoured to be called up to represent my country and I'm looking forward to ripping in with my team mates and making my family and everyone associated with Hull KR proud.'

After featuring in last year's test series against Tonga, Mikey Lewis will be hoping to pull on that England jersey once more: 'It's a great honour to be selected in the England squad again and to be called up with Jez (Litten) and Mini (Minchella), it's a great achievement for the themselves and the club.

'I'm over the moon for Mini. I feel it's been a long time coming and he'll take this chance with two hands. I'm really excited to take part in this week's preparation for the game against France and share that experience with both Mini and Jez.'

Reacting to the news of his inclusion in the squad, Jez Litten said: 'Being selected for the England squad is an unreal feeling, nothing will ever beat it.

'To go into camp with Mini (Minchella) and Mikey (Lewis) just makes this one even more special and it’ll be an experience I’ll never forget.'

Both England’s Men and Women play France on Saturday, as the French Rugby League (FFR XIII) celebrates 90 years of the game in the republic. And both matches will be streamed live from Stade Ernest-Wallon on Super League+, Rugby League’s global, direct-to-consumer streaming service. Kick off times are 2.30pm BST (England Women) and 5pm (BST) England Men.
