Thank You Rugby League - Rhyse Martin

Rhyse Martin will bring the curtain down on a storied playing career following the 2026 Rugby League World Cup. Reflecting on his time with the Robins and an incredible career, Martin said:

"The last two years have been something I will never forget.

Some of the memories we’ve made and the things we’ve achieved as a team have been unbelievable, I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of that.

The team, all the boys and the staff were unbelievable to work with and I have some friends for life at Hull KR.

When you go through a period with so much success, you make such strong relationships and all of that means so much. I’ll leave Hull KR with a lot of friends and I’ve really loved my time here.

It’s been an awesome experience. Everyone that I’ve met during my time at the club were all genuine, nice people and a joy to turn up to work with. I became really close with all the boys and I just want to thank them for making my time at the club so enjoyable.

And then to the fans who create the best atmosphere consistently - week in, week out, at every home and away game. The Hull KR fans are the best in the league by far. My time has been really enjoyable and I leave with great memories, so I thank everybody for that.

I’m so proud of everything I’ve been able to achieve in my career as a whole and I definitely know I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my wife. She’s been there since day one and since we’ve had our kids, it’s just been us two, finding a way to make everything work. She’s let me turn up to work and not worry about all the things at home and I’ll be forever grateful for that.

And to my family, the ones that have been there right from the very start, I just want to thank them as well.

The UK has welcomed me and my family with open arms and we’ve absolutely loved our time here. It has become a really special place for us and somewhere we’ll always have great memories of.

I’ve been fortunate enough to represent some great clubs throughout my career in the Sydney Roosters, Townsville Blackhawks, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR.

I want to thank all of my teammates, coaches, staff and fans at each of those clubs. So many people have played a part in my journey and made my playing career as enjoyable as it has been and I’m incredibly grateful for all the memories and friendships that I’ve made along the way.

I leave the game with great memories, achieved a lot of personal goals but it’s the friendships that I'm going to be very grateful to have and people that I want to stay in contact with for the rest of my life.

This game’s brought me so much and I’m very, very proud of everything I’ve been able to achieve along the way.

So, if there is anything else, I just want to thank everyone that’s been a part of my journey."

Rhyse made 43 appearances for Hull KR, scoring 12 tries and converting 149 goals.

Martin was also part of the Robins' side that secure its first ever treble in 2025, capturing the Challenge Cup, League Leaders' Shield and Super League Trophy.
