Rest in Peace - Don Robinson: 1934 - 2025

Hull KR are saddened to learn of the passing of former club chairman Don Robinson.

Don led the consortium that took Hull KR out of administration in 2000, taking over as chairman of the club’s board in mid-May that year. He served in that role for over a year, at a very difficult time in the club’s history.

The club’s financial situation was even worse than had been realised when the consortium took over, and on the field, the Robins finished only seventh in the second tier of professional rugby league in the two years that he was at the club.

Hull KR owner Neil Hudgell paid tribute to Don saying: “I only knew Don for a short time. He was a proper showman, light years ahead of his time. He had energy and enthusiasm and was a real business visionary.

He helped stabilise the ship at Hull KR when we were in the choppiest of waters. He was great company, and will be missed by many.”
