Matty Storton to depart Hull KR at the end of the 2024 season

Hull KR can confirm Matty Storton will depart the club at the end of the 2024 Betfred Super League season.

The Keighley-born forward signed ahead of the 2020 season, and is now closing in on 100 Hull KR appearances.

Storton has developed into a key member of the Robins’ pack, helping the club to two Betfred Super League Semi-Finals, and last year’s Betfred Challenge Cup Final.

Currently, Matty has made 97 appearances for the Red & Whites, scoring 10 tries in that time and will now be hoping to help the squad push towards the Super League Play-Offs.

On leaving the club at the end of the season, Matty Storton said:

‘I’d firstly like to thank the club, and the fans for the past five seasons. It’s been a great journey, and to see where the club is today from where it was when I signed, I’m proud to have been a part of that.

‘There’s still a massive job ahead though and I’m fully committed to keep pushing towards the end of the season, and a chance to achieve something special with this great club.’

Head Coach, Willie Peters also commented on Matty leaving Hull KR:

‘Matty (Storton) is a champion person, he’s going to be well missed at our club. He’s been a big part of what we’ve done this year, but I know Matty still has a lot to give, and he wants to go out on a high note.’
