
Karl Lawton Signs Long-Term Deal with Hull KR
Hull KR are delighted to announce the signing of NRL forward, Karl Lawton on a three-year deal ahead of the 2026 Betfred Super League season.
Bringing with him a wealth of experience, the 30-year-old joins the Robins after playing 115 NRL games. Lawton has featured for Gold Coast Titans, New Zealand Warriors, Manly Sea Eagles and most recently, North Queensland Cowboys.
A versatile forward capable of playing second-row, hooker and loose forward, Lawton is known for his boundless energy as a danger runner with he ball alongside his relentless work in defence.
Lawton has been given squad number 19 for the 2026 season as he prepares to link up with Willie Peters’ side at Sewell Group Craven Park soon.
Speaking to hullkr.co.uk on joining Hull KR, Karl Lawton said: “I’m pumped, I can’t wait to start. Hull KR are a successful club with a great reputation. Everyone that’s spoke about the club that’s been there in the past has loved it.
Willie (Peters) has told me about his values and what this club stands for, and I just want to come and reinforce that.
The fans already have something to cheer about with the great season they’ve had, I just want to replicate that and put my best foot forward and earn everyone’s respect.”
Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters, spoke highly of the club’s latest addition: “I’d like to welcome Karl (Lawton) and his family to Hull KR. Karl can play various positions, which will help balance our squad for 2026.
Karl’s best positions are hooker and back-row. However, he can play loose forward and centre as well which will be a great asset for us this year.
Karl’s biggest strengths are his effort areas and he’s a players others like to play with. We look forward to welcoming Karl, Katie and their children to the Hull KR family.”
