Joe Burgess to depart at the end of the season

Hull KR can confirm Joe Burgess will depart the club at the end of the 2026 Betfred Super League season to take up an opportunity with another Super League club.

Burgess will bring his time at Sewell Group Craven Park to a close following three seasons in Red and White, having joined the Robins ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Since arriving in East Hull, the winger has gone on to win every trophy available, winning the treble in 2025 and then going on to win the World Club Challenge against Brisbane Broncos in 2026.

Throughout his time with the club, Joe has made a significant contribution both on and off the field and will remain fully committed to Hull KR for the remainder of the 2026 season, and we will hear from him on the conclusion of the season.

Speaking on Joe departing at the end of the season, Chief Executive, Paul Lakin said: “Joe has been a fantastic player for us and will leave at the end of the season having been a cornerstone of our success over the last 3 seasons."

“Whilst Joe had one more year left on his contract we recently engaged in open and transparent discussions with him and his manager to seek future opportunities elsewhere for 2027 onwards, due to our salary cap restrictions and our desire to add some more depth to the squad. As you would expect there was no shortage of offers.”
