Hull KR to celebrate George Gray across 2026 Players and Coaches Training Ranges
Did you know that the phone in your pocket, the screen on your desk and your Casio Watch exist because of a technological breakthrough over 50 years ago by a research team at the University of Hull?
The University played a significant role in pioneering liquid crystal technology (LCD), with Professor George Gray leading a research group that discovered stable cyanobiphenyl liquid crystals in the early 1970s.
This breakthrough was crucial for the development of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) used in modern flat-screen TVs, smartphones, and other electronic devices, laying the foundation for a multibillion-dollar industry.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Hull KR are proud to celebrate a special man across our new players and coaches training wear ranges, George Gray.
The range, in a classy teal, charcoal and yellow colour way, takes its pattern design inspiration from the billions of screens since sold around the world and is available to buy now at hullkr.co.uk/shop.
The new players training and coaching range, is proudly sponsored by Designs and 360 Chartered Accountants.
Wear the new range with pride, in the knowledge, that just like George Gray, you are taking a little bit of our City to the World each time you wear it.
