Hull KR Introduce New Supporter Council

Hull KR Introduce New Supporter Council

Hull KR are pleased to introduce a new ‘supporter council’ to further strengthen the relationship and communication between the fans and the club.

With the club transitioning through its fastest growth period ever, the fan-led council will ensure supporters voices are continued to be heard in a structured way.

Supporter representatives will be elected in the below roles…

- East Stand Member

- North Stand Member

- West / Well Member

- Match ticket purchaser (non-member)

- Out of town supporter (must be able to attend majority of meetings in person)

- Under 18s representative (if aged under 16, you will be asked to attend with your parent / guardian)

- 19 – 30s representative

- Disabled supporter (ambulant or wheelchair)

The club will be represented by Paul Lakin, Chief Executive, Craig Franklin, Chief Operating Officer and Craig Shepherd, Foundation Chief Executive along with other senior club staff as appropriate for the agenda.

Hull KR Chief Executive Paul Lakin said: “The club has grown significantly so now is the ideal time to set-up a supporter council, with representation across our full supporter base having a voice.

This isn’t a complaints forum, nor will it be about divulging transfer information or other gossip. It is a council for supporters to put their voices forward on operational issues and the bigger, more strategic aspects of the club.

I have experienced this structure at previous clubs, and it works very well in an open and transparent way. We can drive the club further forwards together in an engaging way.”

HOW WILL IT WORK?

Fans can submit their application online HERE. Fans must submit a picture, details of the role they wish to apply for and a short description of why they feel they are suitable for the role.

Up to three nominations for each position will then be listed online, and all supporters will be able to vote to elect their preferred candidate.

When the final group is confirmed, they will meet and nominate a Chair. The Chair will be up for re-election each year.

Each representative will serve for a two year term, and can serve a maximum of two terms (four years) on the council. However, to achieve a cycle where half of the panel is refreshed each year, four members of the first panel will only serve for one year, before standing for their second term (serving the council therefore for a maximum of three years).

The agenda will be set by the council prior to the meeting and agreed with the club in advance.

Minutes of the meetings will be recorded and agreed by the council and club, and then published on hullkr.co.uk for all supporters to view.

The council will convene every three months, with the first meeting taking place in June.

Supporters can apply to get involved now HERE, submissions must be made by 4pm Thursday 13th April.
