Hull KR confirm highest ever IMG club grading

Hull KR are delighted to confirm our IMG club grading as the highest ever since its introduction as a metric, scoring 17.85 points out of 20 and awarded ‘Category A’ status.

The club have further improved on our 2024 grading across a number of pillars to move up to the top position in the overall IMG rankings table.

Chief Executive Paul Lakin is delighted the club have secured the improved licence and said:

“Securing the highest score in the sport is testament to all the hard work on and off the field over the last couple of years.

Clearly what the fans see are the results, and now trophies on the pitch. But behind that, a huge amount of work has gone on to improve our facilities and grow the fanbase locally in stadia and digitally across our international projects.

The increased score is a reflection of all of that. On behalf of the Board of Directors I’d like to thank our Partners, Sponsors, Staff and Players, who have all done their bit to contribute.

With the Las Vegas trip, and a World Club Challenge to host, 2026 is set to be even more exciting for the club, and gives us opportunities to keep on growing."

Grading of clubs was one of the seven recommendations which were presented to Rugby League as part of IMGs reimagining of the sport, and which were supported by a substantial majority of clubs at all levels.

The objective is to develop clubs’ long-term strategy as the game works to further grow to new audiences. The grading system will also be used to decide two new Super League licences as the competition grows to 14 teams in 2026.
