Hull KR capture Jack Charles on four-year deal

Hull KR are excited to announce the signing of promising young halfback, Jack Charles, on a four-year deal from the start of the 2026 Betfred Super League season.

The 19-year-old playmaker will join the Robins from Hull FC, having already made 22 Super League appearances since breaking through with the Black and Whites.

The two-time England Academy International will look to further develop his game at Sewell Group Craven Park under the guidance of Willie Peters’ coaching staff and the club’s established halves, Mikey Lewis and Tyrone May.

Son of former Robin, Chris Charles, Jack continues the family legacy in East Hull as he makes the switch across the river.

A composed organiser with a sharp running game, the former Beverley Braves’ junior also possesses a strong kicking repertoire in play and from tee.
In reaction to signing a long-term deal with the Robins, Charles said: “First of all, I’m really excited to get started.

It’s a bit surreal. My family are all Red and White. But this was ultimately my own decision and I want to stamp my own legacy at the club and on the game.”

Speaking on working with the Robins' senior halves, Charles said: “Mikey and Tyrone are great players with what they’ve done the last few couple of years. I just want to learn off them alongside Willie (Peters) and be a sponge on the training pitch and off it.”

Charles reflected on having the backing of the Red Army as he makes the switch to across the River Hull: “I’ve come to Sewell Group Craven Park on the other side and it was an unbelievable experience - the atmosphere was like being in a movie!

I’m looking forward to the fans being on my side and hopefully repay them. They’re the people that pay us and they’re the people I want to do proud.”

Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters, welcomed the long-term addition of Jack Charles: “‘We’re pleased to welcome Jack (Charles) to Hull KR.

He's an exciting young half and his best years are ahead of him. Jack has the opportunity to learn from our staff alongside Tyrone May and Mikey Lewis, which will give him the best opportunity to develop into a Super League player at Hull KR.

We're looking forward to working with Jack in 2026 and beyond.”
