Academy Product Frankie Dearlove signs a two-year deal at Hull KR

Hull KR are delighted to confirm the signing of Academy product, Frankie Dearlove on a two-year first team deal until the end of 2027.

Dearlove has been at the Robins for over four years, coming through the club’s pathways by joining the Scholarship team, moving up to the Academy, progressing to the Reserves side this year and has now signed a deal with the First Team. 

The 18-year-old has trained with the first team on numerous occasions throughout the 2025 season, showcasing his development as a player on and off the field. The second-rower has showcased his grit and determination throughout his time in the Hull KR's pathways. 

Outside of his time with the Robins, Dearlove featured in the Academy Origin Match for the Yorkshire side on the 2nd August earlier this year which was played at Sewell Group Craven Park. 

Throughout the 2025 season, Frankie Dearlove has scored in five games out of the 12 Academy fixtures he has appeared in - scoring tries in games against Castleford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Hull FC and Bradford. He has also featured in the Reserves line-ups throughout this season and scored a try in the Reserves derby in March. 

Reflecting on signing his contract, Frankie said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to have signed on for Hull KR. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid. There’s no place else I’d rather be. 

“I’m so thankful for everyone who has stood by me along the road in my journey, my parents especially for coming to all my games along the way - I’d also like to thank my boyhood club Skirlaugh where I fell in love with playing this sport and wouldn’t be here without it.

The boys that I’ve grown with in the Academy and Reserves have really helped me progress along the way and the Academy coaching staff at Hull KR that have truly helped me advance my game.

I’m itching to start now, despite it being the off-season, I can’t wait to make an impact on the squad and coaching staff and hopefully add another chapter to my Rugby career."

Jason Netherton, who has coached Frankie throughout his time here at Hull KR, commented on the second-rower signing his first-team contract:

“We are all very proud of what Frankie has achieved this year. He is a player in the mould of Dean Hadley, very athletic and incredibly hard working, he always does the little things that other people aside from his teammates wouldn’t notice. Frankie has come along through the pathways incredibly well, with a full-time pre-season and some confidence building, the sky’s the limit.”

Hull KR First Team Head Coach Willie Peters addressed the signing of Frankie Dearlove:

"We’re really pleased to sign Frankie to a first team deal. Frankie is a local Skirlaugh junior who has progressed through our Academy to our Reserves.

Frankie represented Yorkshire in the Academy Origin series earlier in the year and has been working hard this year with the first team ahead of 2026.
We’re looking forward to Frankie continuing to work hard, apply himself and further his development at Hull KR to put himself in a position to play for the club's first team in the coming years."
