A message on the 2023 season from Hull KR Chief Executive, Paul Lakin

Minutes after the final hooter yesterday we witnessed all our 4,500 fans stay behind to applaud the players and in return the players applauded our fans. In that one moment it summed up what we all truly believe – that this is just the beginning, a building block for future success, we will continue to grow and come back even stronger in 2024.

Full credit to Wigan, we were beaten by a very good side, they showed us the level we need to get to in future years.

I am so proud that we are a club as one, from the boardroom, staff and players, to you, our fantastic supporters. We have made so much progress both on and off the field in the last 12 months and there is so much more to come from everyone at the club. Big clubs are involved in big games, and we fully intend to be right in the mix for future trophies.

Willie, his staff, the wider support staff, our 2024 first team players, our board of directors will work harder than ever to bring success to this incredible club. We aren’t far away and with your truly inspiring support we will achieve great things together, I have no doubt.

You have achieved our highest average Super League attendance ever, and travelled in such big numbers to two semi-finals and the Challenge Cup final. On behalf of everyone at the club, thank you so much for being with us every step of the way this season.

We will do everything possible to ensure this is only the beginning. Thank you from everyone at the club.
