Robins name April Team of the Month

Hull KR are proud to present their April Team of the Month.

It’s been a busy month for the Robins with the Men’s first team winning five out of six games in April while the club’s scholarship, academy and girls’ sides all picked up wins last month.

The team is formed on the recommendation of the club’s coaches, highlighting the standout performances from their respective teams. The commitment comes as the Robins look to highlight and reward its current and prospective stars from across the club.

Fullback – Lachlan Coote – Hull KR Men’s First Team

Last month, Coote cemented himself as key to the Robins’ exciting attack helping to dismantle Warrington with a try and two assists before inspiring KR to a win over cross-city rivals, Hull FC.

Sadly, the mercurial fullback will miss this week’s Challenge Semi-Final due to a head knock but expect to see the Scotland International back later this month.

Wing – Josh Ratuvou – Hull KR Scholarship

Part of the Scholarship’s dangerous left edge with Oil Forsyth and Ryan Hall. Ratouva was a stand-out in the Robins close loss to Bradford earlier in the month. Josh continues to be a threat in attack and solid in defence.

Centre – Jimmy Keinhorst – Hull KR Men’s First Team

Able to play across the Robins’ three-quarter line and in the back-row, Keinhorst has been at the heart of the first team’s grit when fielding the ball out of backfield and ability to remain in the arm wrestle for the latter stages of games.

Centre – Rob Holcombe – Hull KR LDSL Team

Rob Holcombe is one of the LDSL side’s most experienced players and has been a leader on the pitch. His talk when playing is a real asset to the team and he can certainly finish a try-scoring opportunity.

Wing – Ryan Hall – Hull KR Men’s First Team

An England call-up and eight tries in the Super League, Ryan Hall is in the form of his life with his metres out of backfield invaluable to the Robins’ go-forward. As part of the side’s dangerous right edge, Hall continues to be one of the league’s most dangerous finishers.

Stand Off – Will Precious – Hull KR Scholarship

Able to play at hooker and in the halves, Will Precious has been key to the scholars’ slick moves in attack, combining with Jay Hampshire and Ryan Moses in the junior Robins’ spine.

Halfback – Ruby Ellis – Hull KR Girls U16s

Ruby Ellis has made as solid start to the season, one of the many first year U16s that does not look out of place playing against opposition a year older. Able to marshall her team around the field, Ellis continues to get better week on week.

Prop – Jack Handley  – Hull KR Academy

A strong carrier of the ball, Jack Handley has continued to transition well into the front row and has been very good since coming back from a wrist injury earlier in the year. The towering prop will look to build on his form as the Academy season gears up for a busy Summer.

Hooker – James Spaven – Hull KR LDSL Team

James Spaven has really impressed for the Robins’ LDSL side throughout the month of April both at training and in the latest round of festivals. With his effective running from acting half, James has not only scored some great tries but has also had some fantastic contributions to them too.

Prop – Grace Antcliffe – Hull KR Girls U14s

Captain of the girls’ U14s, Grace Antcliffe leads by example in every game. Able to get the defence moving and get KR on front foot, the young dynamic prop is currently top of the try scoring charts for her side.

Second-Row – Korben Pratt – Hull KR Academy

A fantastic edge runner with a knack for capitalising on a defender’s weaknesses, Korben Pratt has had a strong April for the Robins’ Academy. Looking good with the ball in hand, it’s the second-rower’s dominant defensive contributions that have made him a standout.

Second-Row – Elly-Mai Mann – Hull KR Girls U13s

Elly-Mai Mann is in her first season with the Robins after transitioning from school rugby and making a big impression. Extremely strong and deceptively quick, Elly has scored some quality tries for the side and works tirelessly in defence.

Loose Forward – Hayden Todd – Hull KR Scholarship

Included for the second time in as many months, Todd is a consistent source of energy for the scholars’ engine room and one of their top performers. Deservedly, his influence for the Scholars warranted an inclusion in April’s team of the month.
