Tate rapidly became a fans favourite after debuting for the club in 2020 against Leeds Rhinos, in the demanding role of full back. At the young age of just 18, coaching staff and fans alike were impressed with his level headedness and calming presence at the back. Tate picked up his first professional try whilst playing on the wing against Huddersfield Giants.
