GALEA AND BEAUMONT SIDELINED
Skipper Ben Galea and promising young front rower Richard Beaumont will both miss the start of the Super League season after picking up injuries in the derby victory over Hull FC at the weekend.
Galea damaged a medial knee ligament in the opening exchanges at the KC, whilst Beaumont was stretchered off with what has now been confirmed as a fractured fibula.
"Losing Benny and Rich is a blow," said Head Coach, Craig Sandercock. "Benny is looking at being out for between 8-12 weeks which is disappointing for both himself and the team. But the one thing we know about Benny is that he's the consummate professional and he'll be doing everything he can, in tandem with the medical department, to get himself back on the paddock as soon as he can.
"As regards Rich, he has a fractured leg and the medical team are looking into the treatment options."
Sandercock has also confirmed that Michael Dobson will captain the side in Galea's absence.
