Club Chaplain

Our club Chaplain is Reverend Alison Gilchrist. As a member of SCORE, a registered charity which specializes in the provision of quality chaplaincy to the world of sport, Alison provides pastoral and spiritual support in a sensitive, non-judgmental and non-sectarian way to players, staff, fans and anybody else associated with the club.

Increasingly those involved in sport have recognised the need for pastoral and spiritual care and we are at the forefront of this with the appointment of the first female Chaplain in Rugby league and the first club in the UK to have its own prayer:

We give thanks Lord, for Hull Kingston Rovers Rugby League Football Club.

We pray our club will be a place where all are valued and the dignity of every person with whom we engage is upheld.                                                                       

Help us aim to be the best we possibly can, allowing competition to make us strong but not hostile. Give us the grace to compete with honour and a spirit of good will, both for ourselves, and those we face in the game. In victory, help us rejoice; when denied, keep us from envy.                                                                                                           

Let Hull Kingston Rovers set an example and let it be a good one.
